Days 4 & 5 - Jan 7 & 8, 2006: Cristiany´s Birthday Party
Cristiany rented a large house (6? bedrooms) a couple hundred yards from the beach at Porto Das Dunas, about 20 minutes outside Fortaleza.

Cris, Uzi, Laurence and I drove out on Saturday afternoon. The house is right near the biggest water park in South America (or so they say).
One neat thing about the party for me was that I got to meet lots of Cristiany´s friends. One of the most photogenic was Sophia, 8 months. (OK, her German mother, Angela is probably closer to Cris.)
Sophia in a rare moment when she was not trying to crawl somewhere and put something in her mouth.
Sophia was the center of attention for a while. Here she is with the wife, Luisa Marilac, of Cristiany´s oldest brother, Frank.
With Luisa Marilac and a mango. (My experiment with not using the flash was only successful when nobody moved!)
Frank & Luisa Marilac´s oldest son, Vinícius.
On Sunday we took a walk down to the beach. Here Cristiany models her pseudo- Arab garb.
Amaury, journalist, Liana, travel agent, and Ricardo, musician, enjoy a quiet moment and just a few beers.
Regina, teacher, soccer fan, gardener and woman on the move.
